Yeah, except they put all those keywords in the listing... chances are if I'm looking for "keywords: Ferrari Porsche Lamborghini BMW Mercedes AMG Maserati Lotus Aston Martin Corvette 350z 370z Honda Prelude BRZ WRX FR-S FRS" I'm not interested in an NSX.

Well the thing with the 1969 is that it was my dads car. like when he was my age. LITERALLY his car . The guy he sold it to as a roller tried to save it after he got done with school but by then it was too far gone and just saved the door tags and fender tag and scrapped the rest. (my dad took the engine out of it) So thats why I'm torn.

TL;DR

Dad's car from college, Sentimental Value

You will regret buying a car like this with an automatic after a while... Really... Let it go, and find something else... Don't buy it.

wo where am I gonna find one at this price and this close. And honestly I don't care about manual = master race thing. I have a 2011 Mustang GT in auto and I don't mind at all.

Kinja'd!!! Flavien Vidal > Cherry_man1
07/07/2014 at 08:43

Kinja'd!!!0

You don't pay for it cheap because of the transmission. It's cheap right now but it has close to 120.000miles. Manual will be at a similar price granted it has a high mileage also.

Personnaly, I find driving an auto, whatever the car, to be utterly boring. I hate being on the brakes constantly to, along with having a delay whenever I decide to accelerate. Accelerating is like having a turbo car from the 80s... "wait for it, wait for it...go!"

Not even talking about the downshifts mid-corner and so on...

This car has been designed to be a proper sports car. Why they even put an automatic in it is beyond my understanding. When you will be old and weak, get an auto so you can sort of enjoy those cars... But enjoy them properly while you can. There is nothing more satisfactory than downshifting a proper sports car while heel-toeing and doing it correctly.

you see a lot of that doesn't really matter to me I've driven autos scenes I've started driving and where I go to school is right in the ozark hills it's also local I also live in an area where there are no curvy roads just nice long straits also the whole 80 turbo thing is bs because the 2011 GT is super fast for shifting as an auto and throttle response is instant.

Really I've driven stick before to me I can live without it. I'm never gonna go to a track so I don't see a point to a stick

Manual transmission conversions are actually fairly common on NSXs. (although it sounds like that isn't going to be something you will do in the future)

It does have a lot of miles, although not really for a Honda, but even at that; it's a rare car and parts will be pricey. You may not have major repairs, but there will be some. Also, if you do want to go manual eventually I'd factor that price in too. There are actually pretty good deals on NSXs that pop up somewhat regularly, so keep in mind that this isn't really a once in a lifetime opportunity.

If it's going to be a DD, I say find a way to drive it (or another one) to see if it will work for your 2.5hr commute every day. If it's reasonable, check it out, see if you love it, and if it works go for it.

wait until you see how auto trans built 20 years before were :)

I have numerous friends who think like you... Until the day they buy their first car with a manual trans... Just buy a manual whatever sports car. I promiss you that after a couple months you'll realize how much you've missed all those years.

the 2.5 hr commute isn't a reg thing cause I'll be livng in the dorms at my college and ya I'll see if there is another NSX around town to text drive before I buy that's for sure. Also I will keep in mind the manual swap but considering the Ozark Moutans are super hilly and it snows frequently down there it's a toss upI'll keep it in mind though. There also is several exotic dealers down there and an Acura dealer that has 3 NSX when I was there last so I think I can shop maintenance places

you say this as if I haven't drive one. I have a Challenger R/T and a Miatia both were decent but I couldn't live with it well not the Miatia anyway I'm 6'4" I kept kitting the wheel with my knee...also the challenger cause it's a cousins car I can give it another shot. But I just didn't enjoy it

Yes while it has the 5 speed its too much cause I maybe MAYBE get 15-20 for my Gran Torino and 9.8k for my Mustang.

Kinja'd!!! anothermiatafanboy > Cherry_man1
07/07/2014 at 13:19

Kinja'd!!!0

Why Are you so defensive about this? In my opinion, that 4 speed auto is a dated transmission that will sap fun out of the car, whereas the 5 speed manual in the NSX is one of the most celebrated transmissions ever made, and will ass greatly to the sense of engagement you will feel. But if you want an auto, that is fine, although I don't know why you capitalize ALL weather....manuals are just fine in ALL the WEATHERZ.

Don't care that it's an automatic. It's an NSX, and thus objectively one of the best cars ever. Even better than a Miata.

Well considering I've driven manuals only in nice weather, and only twice I might add but one was a Challenger R/T the other a Miatia(I was too big for it) , I just don't see a point to them. Also I'm looking at my area and it wouldn't be suited for it too many hills

I dint think youre giving them a proper chance. When you are new to them they are difficult to drive smoothly and so your first times driving stick without doing it well it could degrade the experience. But once you get the knack of it, they add a whole new level of involvement. I don't see hills playing a role in the decision either...unless you live in San Fran or something. The ebrake method (holding the ebrake to not roll back while letting out the clutch) works wonders. I think you should manuals more of a shot, and the NSX would be much more enjoyable with one. BUUUUUUT if the auto is for you then do your thing...happy motoring!
